We are STEAM learners! We designed, drew, built, improved and discussed castles. We also learned about self care and healthy habits. Together we followed a guided meditation for kids and next week we will track our water consumption at school.
We built homes for bears to hibernate in away from the elements. Students chose materials designed,built, improved their design and worked for several days.

We LOVED learning all about the Creston garden during our first lesson of the year. Students went on a tasting tour,reviewed rules,loosened the soil for planting, went on a scavenger hunt and sorted seeds at quiet island.

We are talking about shapes! Students discovered that the shapes in their math bags match the calendar! We can sort by shapes, organize math thinking by shapes and learn that 3D shapes are different than 2D shapes.

Extensions on our learning: Some students have shown interest in large numbers. We discussed ones,tens,hundreds,and thousands and counted out the hundreds within the thousands cube. The number talk conversations across the room while they explored the materials was impressive!
